Gongti is the heart of high-end nightclubs and a symbol of glitzy nightlife in Beijing. Sports games are shows, in essence, with time constraints and perspective, whereas commercials are immersive experiences dominated by circulation. Their common properties of utilitarianism and entertainment leave the potential to assemble. The topicality of sports would bring retails, while the commercials can extend customers' stay in the venue. The suite of designs directed visitors from the metro station to the stadium via the main entrance, retail streets, skylight, etc. The multiple activities in a communal space generate a high-density flow of people, which requires robust infrastructure, effective circulation, reliable public services, and lush greenery. For Gongti, over 80,000m2 GFA were buried underground to pay back the greenery space and minimize carbon footprints while enabling an overland-feeling environment that integrates luxurious sunlight and memorial forms.
