Xianxing Steven Liu

Xianxing Steven obtained his Master's Degree in Architecture at Cornell University, and prior to that, he earned double degrees of B.Arch and B.Eng from UNSW. Outside of school, Steven served in Gensler and CallisonRTKL as a full-time designer specialising in commercial and workplace building design. The radical transition of cultural backgrounds and learning environments prepared him with comprehensive toolkits of computational representation, human-centred interaction and business strategies. In the upcoming position, these skills could nourish the design in economic efficiency and virtual adaptability to ride the rising tide of meta-age.

As an architectural designer, Steven pursues sensory-oriented design and believes space in whatever scale and function should be adaptable and interact with users' behaviour and ego. The built environment influences human's daily not only in the political and social context but also in the behavioural context. Therefore, Steven's passion lies in using multiple new media, textures and mixed-reality to broaden the boundary of the space and augment occupants' sensitiveness. The design delivery can be either an object, an architecture, or any artefacts synergising with human life.
